2011 Logo Trends

Trends with respect to logos have been advancing with each web change.  As designers become more main-stream and creative there is a culmination of contemporary ideas.  One of the most graphical elements of a website is the logo, because it showcases the company and its aspirations to those that visit the website.

With the ability to work together and come up with ideas quickly, designers are often rehashing older ideas into modern logos.  This provides website designers with a nostalgic point of view, when creating artwork.

Vector Animals and Art

Cute fuzzy animals, or creatures of one kind or another, are frequently added in current logos.  However, this is not new.   It has been going on for years.  Two best examples are the bird for Cocoa Puffs and Tony the Tiger for Frosted Flakes.  .

What is different currently is the use of vector illustrations together with excellent imagery.  The chirping Twitter bird and Chimp mailmen demonstrate this growing popularity.

A lot of designers use Adobe Illustrator to create the animals.  The artwork is saved as an (.ai) file and it’s a lot easier to scale and manipulate the figures, as fads change.  Additionally, it gives branding the ability to go to newsletters, emails, and billboards, and other forms of media without pixelation.

Elaborate Typography

One of the main aspects of any logo design is the typography.  Visitor’s eyes are drawn to the top of the page to search for letters that stand out.  If your logo typography jumps from the page, your visitors will easily recognize your brand.
To make a logo stand out, you can use smaller letter icons and outline them in murky grey tones.  The typography can be set against a horizontal axis.  Setting the letters in lowercase denotes a contemporary type of corporate professionalism.

The above effects can be used with any type of logo design to stand alone, or within a niche.  There are varied kinds of businesses and choosing a memorable font is what would be the challenge.

Abstraction Arts

Web designers have been taken in by abstraction arts.  Websites that have simple profiles for users and rounded corners provides an interesting user experience.  Contrasting within a design can split up the logo and information regarding a company, as well.

Increased Novelty

A great way to spur a designers imagination is to use additional logos as a creativity avenue.  For example, Walt Disney played mythology against fairy tales.  This novelty idea has grown immensely in 2011.
This example advocates the designs of i Tunes.  Apple creates different logos for new releases, but the musical notes stands out among the others.

2011 has showcased exquisite artistic designs with logos.  This is because the number of website designers and their products are advancing.  It is not uncommon, presently, to see incredible work emerging from college and high school designers.
