Creative Video Use In Web Designs

A video that is visually appealing is a great way to present your product. Since the days of its invention, video has been one of the best tools for giving powerful visuals to an idea. It is able to clearly and directly deliver a message to a large range of people and focus their attention to anything. If you are looking for a great way to present your product to customers, there is no better way than video. If you are in doubt simply look at how much television advertisements help any business that can afford to use them.

High speed internet connections are now very common, and more people are able to view videos online than ever before. Thanks to this increase in technology web site designers are able to use videos in their design.

Background videos are becoming more and more popular on websites. There is no better way to increase the appeal of a particular page than to include a video stream right in the browser. However, designers must be careful that their videos are going to play properly on all platforms. Many users, especially those with slower internet connections, are not able to view streaming videos without the need to buffer.

Following are some examples of websites, which use videos in a way that enhances the overall effect of design.

Bulgari B. Zero 1

Bulgari is an Italian jewellery maker who also sells luxury goods. They have used background videos to show of their new line of product. The video is integrated into the site very well and things look wonderful. However, there is a possibility that some browsers and connections will not load this site very well. This is a chance that the owners are willing to take in order to make their site truly unique. The overall look of the website is similar to viewing a DVD, with menus, excellent graphics and soft transitions.

Uniqlock

This is an advertising campaign for the Uniqlo brand, which is one of Japan’s biggest casual wear sellers. They have included dance routines in their background videos with music and clocks. This acts as a twenty four hour display of the clothing range and serves the company very well.

Gudrun og Gudrun

This company hand makes clothing, and their website is very stylish. The background video showcases the line of knitwear clothing as though it were a fashion show. There are many subtle transitions on the website which create a sense of flair. This all looks very good, but does not run very well on slower systems. While this site is not one of the most recent additions to the world wide web, it is still an excellent example.

Jay Jays Dance/Off

Dance/Off is Jay Jay’s 3D catalogue online. It shows fashion which is designed for youths. The idea of the website is simply brilliant, but the execution is not as good. Using 3D is a big technological step, but more often than not it is not used properly. If you are not capable of viewing 3D videos you will find this site rather confusing as you are presented with pixelated and unattractive images.
