Way out websites

Way out websites

There are some really unusually and different websites on the internet if you know where to look. When you have a slow day, it’s a very interesting occupation to scroll around the internet and just put in some odd words into the search engines for find a few. Make a note of the ones you do because this is usually a designer to take notice of. These designers have very different ideas and aren’t afraid to put them on the web.

The first I found on the net was a rather slow loader, and I had actually clicked on it and forgotten while I went off for a cup of tea. I returned to hear what sounded like a raven calling and thought a bird had got into my studio.

Instead it was the website of jim Carrey

This site has various pictures of Tom doing various things in films some really interesting effects are used in this website and is well worth a visit. It kept me fascinated for at least 10 minutes just watching things unfold. Things move all the time, and it keeps you watching even while changing pages.
It is extremely slow in loading but be prepared to wait. It’s a pity; they can’t get it to load faster as they will be losing a lot of visits.

The next one I found was that of Tomas Jelinka

It’s a foreign site and not in English, but it is interesting both with its way of showing its showing its face to the world. The graphics are unusual and the way of presentation is easy to understand even in a foreign language.

 F91w

This site is a blog named after a Casio watch.  It is a simple list of random thoughts. The background is a mix of striped colors and little else. The thoughts, however, are very different and well worth of a read.  Whoever put this up is a really different sort of person.

Living legend

This is the website of the Lyric Theatre in the UK. It is fascinating to see the various people who have played at this theatre.  You see the famous faces of the drama world of the UK appearing at various stages, and it has a lime green and black background. The words are presented in a basic slide show but just switching from the script to script but allowing you time to read it. It is very well done.

Transformer

This is an unusual Iptv company with a strategy all its own. They are trying to portray a new type of image to the public. It has both and English, and I think Russian language telling you want it is about but it is obviously a television of some sorts presented in a slide show.

Grip

This is an unusual entry to a website using text in bold, orange and black on a white background. It is clearly a graphic design company and just by looking at the text you can deduct this. It is made to look like a newspaper. They have carried the theme through right to the bold G that they have used as their favicon.

It’s an interesting assortment but my favorite remains jim Carreys.
