Process of designing a website

There are many approaches to designing a website. However, the fundamental principles are compatible. They involve basic steps of learning, planning, designing, coding, launching and maintaining. This article will deal with two major areas which are designing and coding in web site production.

Design

With learning and planning at the base of any web design cultural technique it is time to continue in the process of designing. It is of equal importance as the preceding stages and must be viewed with equal professionalism.
When designing it is vital to realize that web production entails more than a colorful home page, inserting content, applying graphics, connecting links or aligning illustrative text. The questions may then be asked if it does not entail only these elements then what else is needed for a web page design to be authentic and ethical. Yes, there are web designing ethics which must be considered when designing web pages even when subdividing them.

It is the decision to use authentic programs or select web dummies such as Lorem Isump. These can sometimes lead to unrealistic infiltrations to your web designing culture as a producer. True, these may be popular devices, but professionalism requires integrity. It is always better to expose clients and their visitors to real time web experiences. Dummies are fake and can promote a low web site rating.

Photoshop is a real time device which is very useful in creating authentic illustrations or graphics to support content. Bring the mock-up alive by sweating out details. Make the design pixel perfect. Remember a part of being authentic is giving the design your best shot and genuinely putting one’s self into the project as if life itself depended on it. This means adding the personal touch to designing craft. The key is to be open to criticisms and modifications for efficiency. These are a designer’s success tolls which can be generalized to any other situation in life.

Code

Correct code applications are vital to production of a web site. Once your design has passed basic specifications after updating through many redesignations, code enforcement measures must now be applied to the process. It is advisable to start with HTML and CSS templates.
The installation design would then take three routes, namely use of a base template application, layout of main sections and content then validation of the process.Start with a base template
If there are HTML and CSS templates already installed on the computer then it is an easy ready, set and go process. Starter codes such as CSS reset would have already been contained in the software.

Layout the main sections of the content

This entails carving on the HTML/CSS by inserting major sections for header, footer and content. Then create the text and image content. Avoid divitis.

Validate the test

Make sure that HTML and CSS codes are validated before going any further in the process. A recommended validation tool is W3C. These tools are however, not exempt from errors and must not be taken as perfect code validations. Each device has its own peculiar discrepancy. Research them thoroughly.
Browser testing can be conducted using Browserspots. Firebug and Yslow are very efficient debugging devices. Remember to install Google Analytics as a useful alternative.
